Torqeedo Presents New Electric Boating Products at 2018 Miami International Boat Show

Marine Electric Mobility Market Leader to Showcase Full Range of Products and In-Water Demos of Electric-Powered Boats

Crystal Lake, Ill. – Feb. 13, 2018 – Torqeedo will highlight its latest product developments,
including new high-power lithium battery solutions, and a broad selection of electric boats at this
year’s Miami International Boat Show.

Torqeedo’s new Power 48-5000 lithium battery is designed to power electric motors up to 10 kW and
also all electrical loads on the boat. The 48V battery offers an unbeatable combination of longer
service life and an eight-year capacity warranty.

“Our new high-tech 48V lithium battery sets a new standard for energy density and safety on the
water and essentially makes the use of AGMs or gel batteries for electric mobility obsolete,” said
Torqeedo CEO Christoph Ballin.

Torqeedo is also now integrating BMW’s i8 high-power automotive batteries, marinized for the
boating environment, into its award-winning Deep Blue 40 and 80hp propulsion systems.

“With the BMW i8, boats with limited space can utilize state-of-the-art automotive battery
technology and the highest energy density available in the marine market,” said Ballin.

“Electric mobility solutions are rapidly gaining widespread acceptance in the boating market,
driven by rising consumer demand for sustainable products and solutions,” said Ballin. “Offering
sustainable products that deliver a superior value over conventional combustion engines has always
been at the core of Torqeedo’s business strategy. We are continuing this tradition in 2018.”

These new innovations, along with the full range of Torqeedo’s electric boating products, can be
seen at Booth 521 in Tent F at the Miami show. In addition, Torqeedo will have three electric boats
– a Volt 18 with an 80hp Deep Blue outboard and a Bruce 22 with an 8hp Cruise outboard, both built
by Canadian Electric Boat Company, and a Highfield RIB with a 20hp Cruise outboard – on display at
Docks 205-206. The in-water presentation is part of the first-ever “Solar Electric Power Zone,”
sponsored by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and will include live demonstrations of
the new floating Solar Micro Grid Dock from PowerDocks.

The Miami International Boat Show was also chosen for the U.S. premiere of the Avon eJET Concept, a
fully electric luxury jet tender equipped with an 80hp Deep Blue motor with high-capacity batteries
by BMW i. The tender has received international acclaim since its debut at Cannes, and may be
viewed at the Avon booth C217. See the YouTube video here:
