STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 27, 2018 – North America’s premier maritime technology and innovation forum is just weeks away, and excitement is building as U.S. and international shipping companies sign up to participate in record numbers. More than 36 senior executives from major shipping companies have already confirmed their participation as speakers, panelists and moderators in this year’s SHIPPINGInsight, according to the organizers.

The 7th SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization & Innovation Conference & Exhibition will take place Oct. 16-18 at the Stamford Hilton. The annual event brings together shipping companies, government, NGOs, classification societies, flag states and technology suppliers to discuss the challenges and solutions facing the industry.

The conference organizers strongly urge delegates to register in advance using the convenient online portal at www.shippinginsight.com.

Shipowners Take Center Stage

“We are adding exciting new ways for shipping company executives and suppliers to interact and share ideas,” said Carleen Lyden Walker, conference organizer and Chief Innovation Officer. “In addition to important keynote addresses and panel discussions, we’re building on our highly successful luncheon forum of shipowners and managers, giving them an opportunity to share frankly their opinions, concerns and challenges with the delegates in an open Q&A format. A totally new feature for 2018 is our first-ever Shark Tank session, in which innovators and startups will present their solutions to a panel of shipping company executives.”

Angus Campbell, corporate director of energy projects, Bernard Schulte Shipmanagement, and SHIPPINGInsight conference chairman for 2018, “As we prepare for significant change in the shipping industry, this event allows time to learn from and reflect on the views of industry leaders. The mix of shipping professionals attending facilitates balanced discussion, encouraging an open exchange of views and opinions. This forum is valuable, enabling delegates to gain insight and prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

Peter Hadjipateras, corporate development manager, Dorian LG, commented: “SHIPPINGInsight’s annual conference has become one of the not-to-be-missed events on the shipping industry calendar. I look forward to participating at the event as well as the opportunity to learn more about the transformative technologies that will shape our industry in the next few years.”
