Boating Writers International Accepting Entries for Annual Writing Contest

Deadline for Submissions Is Dec. 31, 2020

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Dec. 10, 2020 – Boating Writers International (BWI) today announced that the Annual Writing Contest is now open for entries.

Now in its 28th year, the BWI Writing Contest recognizes exceptional achievements in boating journalism, photography and videography with a total of $15,000 in cash prizes.

Complete contest details and the electronic entry form can be found on the BWI website. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2020.

Fifteen categories are offered this year, including technical reporting, safety and seamanship, travel, lifestyles, boat tests and more. Entries are welcome from digital-only or print sources.

The 2020 BWI competition will recognize the best marine journalists in the world and presents cash awards to first- ($500), second- ($300) and third-place ($200) scorers. Presentation of awards will be made virtually in mid-February 2021 (date to be announced). Certificates of Merit are presented to those who score closely to third-place winners with work recognized by the judging panels.
